Informative Essay

In our current world, information is the main currency, gold made of 1's and 0's. But gold isn't as trendy anymore, there's a new player on the field - the time in which that information can be shared. This causes the credibility of mainstream information to decrease and shows social media is the go-to way of sharing news as it allows for content delivered directly to the masses. It's a perfect medium for our fast-paced world, but also ideal for bad-actors wanting to create chaos and divide people. And now comes the real question - how can we, us a society keep the trust in the news, filter out all of the misinformation? I believe that by reading known, trusted sources, with a reason and understanding, we can become more literate people. We should search for ways to make sure what is available to the public is truthful, non-biased and accessible to everyone.

Clark (2026) explains the current hardware market, impact of AI and how it affects general customers. Many known analists and experienced specialists notice the rising need for memory and storage, and they don't mention any short-term vision for it slowing down. As a Computer Science and an general enjoyer of technology in every shape or form, I am very muuch against this trend. What should raise many warnings for us is the fact that hardware companies are turning away from selling products to general customers, and focusing only on the business ones. It shifts the accessibility of computing power away from people, and increases the power of corporations, which might lead us to a situation where personal devices won't do any computations, but forward it all to a cloud. It's the worst possible scenario when it comes digital privacy, but it's the creeping reality. Thanks to various voices of renowed and experienced personas, Clark's text is credible and reliable.

Biersdorfer (2026) writes about resurgence of old technology, and how to bring the dead back to life. This article shows a trend of people coming back to their old devices, reviving them and rediscovering the beauty of clicky keyboards and manual knobs. In my opinion it's great, as it allows people to bond over and share their experiences, makes younger generations more knowledgable about the history and inner workings of electronics. I've been repairing older phones, cameras and audio devices for few years now, and it's been a great learning source for me about how technology works - a very important insight in current times. The article informs on the trend and ways that people can find resources to repair devices, which doesn't come with any bias. Additionally, the topic is close to my personal experiences.

Morgan (2026) clarifies the mix-up about a boy participating in Bad Bunny's Superbowl halftime show. Despite the strong, vocal statements from Bad Bunny during Grammy's night, the halftime show was more focused on subtile but meaningful symbols, like the article's title boy, which were to show people what unity should feel mean and feel like. From what can be read in the article, and my thoughts after watching the concert, I believe that the goal was met, and various reactions of people proved it. Trump strongly criticized the show, calling it XXXXXXX, in his post on X. Morgan showed the meaning of the symbols, and proved show's effectiveness by mentioning the reaction of such an important person as Trump. Despite touching sensitive topics, Morgan doesn't provide any personal thoughts nor bias, which makes the article a good piece of news.

Caron (2026) reports on the growing touch-depravation issue among the general population. This problem touches many, myself included, as for a long time I felt a staggering void due to lack of close people around. Current fast-paced and anxious world creates an environment exactly opposite of what we need. Thanks to ideas and propositions from various psychology professors as well as influencers who also felt that void, I learned about the existence of self-soothing techniques that might help in hard times. The article has both personal and profesional insights, which makes it a trustworthy source of information.

Reading with purpose and willingness to learn new things is the best thing anybody can do in the current world, so reliant on short-form, targeted and indoctrinized content. By refering to trusted sources, we make decrease the chance of being exposed to misinformation, but we still have to check the pieces for any bias and opinions. Thanks to access to New York Times Edupass from FHSU, students have one of the best resources at hand, as NYT is considered a really good source of information.

Points

Music also brings people together -> Bad Bunny's Grammy show. More than music - giving people hope, unity and laughter -> People still want to fight against that. Call it fake and bad. World of bad influence. Environment of hate and dispute.

Environment of strees and anxiety -> People being touch-starved, wanting more connection. Current world is full of hate and demand, and we must find ways to stand against it, diminish its impact on us. Find ways to have fun -> Getting together, connecting between people, countries, generations -> Music, retro devices
